Session 0209 - A Day Without A Night (Airdate: 11/12/23)

Sometimes we have a theme, or a guest - but sometimes, sometimes we like to just play some good music. Tonight was one of those nights. Keith gave us some strong picks, we read some suspiciously familiar listener mail from one Elliott Smith (not that one), and went over the list of upcoming shows. We were especially happy to play the latest from The Mommyheads and Sneakpeek, two great additions to the Auto Reverse pantheon.

Mike Love sucks! :)

LUXURY BONUS CONTENT: Hot Chip - I Feel Better

We probably won't get around to playing this song on the show, but the video (directed by Peter Serafinowicz) is very much worth your time.

Just wait for it.

Session 0206 - The DJ Shadow Experience (Airdate: 10/22/23)

This week we took a deep dive into the early, genre-defining work of DJ Shadow - his landmark debut album Endtroducing....; the first UNKLE album, Psyence Fiction, and his follow-up album The Private Press. All are highly recommended by Auto Reverse, as well as the rest of his discography, which we try to sprinkle into our typical mixes. Audience reaction on the night from folks unfamiliar with his work found it "trippy." Welcome to life at the speed of Mike, I guess.

And of course, a special appearance by William Shatner really rounded things out. Maybe the most important thing, though, is that we played the anthem of the Young People's Uprising of 1989 in an alternate universe, Electric Youth by the great Debbie Gibson.
